Horseplay offers instruction in both dressage and hunter-jumper disciplines. Our focus is on the individual’s development of skills and a relationship to our equine partners. Instruction is in the English riding disciplines, but it is our hope that our riders will carry the relationship with horses they develop here throughout their years. We are grateful to participate in the lives of these wonderful creatures!

Semi-private:               $45.00 – 50 min-1 hr session
Monthly packages: 10% discount when paid by 1st lesson day of the month.

Lesson fees are due for the month on the first lesson day of that month. Students will not be mounted for a second monthly lesson unless payment has been made. Make-up sessions will be scheduled at the convenience of Horseplay instructors if cancellation is given at least 24 hours in advance or due to a documented emergency.  Lessons cancelled for weather will be offered make-up sessions (as above). Please bring a rain jacket suitable for riding for use during light rains.

All students will be asked to assist in stable chores when time permits: bringing in & turning out horses, cleaning & storing tack, feeding & cleaning stalls as level of ability permits. (This is not a part of their scheduled lesson time so does not detract from riding.) Grooming and saddling may included in lesson time until students are capable of working independently. When heavy rains interfere with riding time we will continue with dismounted exercises and instruction in the barn.

Boarding:

Monthly boarding fee:  $650.00 plus tax
Board includes: Alfalfa cubes and/or Timothy hay. Included in board is a maximum of 24#s/day per horse. Horses are fed twice daily (horses stalled during the day are also fed lunch). Additional fees will be charged for concentrates and feeding supplements. Stalls are cleaned daily and bedded with dry coffee skins (“parchment”). Horses are rotated from stall to paddock turnout with a minimum paddock turnout of 2 hrs per day, 6 days per week.

Boarder’s use of large arena is subject to the lesson schedule.

Owners who are not available to arrange for services such as shoeing and veterinary care for their horses may schedule these services with Horseplay staff. A charge of $40/hour will apply with a quarter hour minimum.

Share-boarding (partial lease):

Share-boarding is sometimes possible for advanced riders and students in a regular lesson program who have reached a sufficient level of practical safety and ability, when a suitable horse is available. Approval must be given by Cyndy and the horse’s owner. Please inquire for schedule of fees. Students who share-board will often have greater opportunities for competition. Students are responsible for the horse in their care when share-boarding (catching, grooming, saddling, feeding, and turning out). It may be required that a parent or supervisor is in attendance.

Students, family & friends on Horseplay premises who are not in a scheduled lesson are not under supervision. Barn rules must be observed by all owners, share-boarders, families and guests.

Other Services:Training, longeing, grooming services may be available depending on schedule of Horseplay staff. Please ask for fee schedule.
